Basingstoke Talking News is a free audio news service for people who are blind, partially sighted or unable to read standard printed material.
Produced in partnership with Basingstoke Community Radio, the service provides local news, community information, features and entertainment in an accessible audio format for listeners throughout Basingstoke and the surrounding area.
Our aim is to help people remain informed, connected and involved in their local community through a regular programme created by our dedicated team of volunteers.
Who Can Register?
The service is available to anyone living with sight loss, visual impairment or another condition that makes reading newspapers, magazines and printed information difficult.
Family members, carers and support organisations are also welcome to contact us on behalf of somebody who may benefit from the service.
How To Register
Registration is simple and completely free of charge. Click the button below to send us an email and a member of the Talking News team will contact you to discuss the service and answer any questions you may have.
There is no obligation and we will be happy to explain how the service works before you decide whether to register.
